Elena Caicoya (1985) was born in, Vigo (Spain). In 1999 moved to Felsted, England where through her teacher, the artist, David Smith, she deep deepened art world and its knowledge about the meaning of becoming a professionally Artist.

In 2003 she turned back to Madrid where she finished secondary studies at La Palma Art School and after passing a Spanish selectivity exams, talent and entrance examinations at the Faculty of Fine arts at she started coursing her university Art studies and went on to graduated from Madrid Complutense University in 2010-2011.

Her work has been exhibited in Spain, London and Portugal, and her art has been recommended by Amigos del Prado Museum Foundation.

Elena Works on a wide of different medias; painting, printmaking, sculpture, performance, design, etc.. Her work is associated to landscapes and small bits of reality that she transforms to her world in her aesthetic language of modernism and its relationship of excessive accumulation off matter.

She takes inspiration on urban and industrial forms , reinterpreting them as handmade objects that record the artist´s relationship to the artifice and artefact. Elena likes developing her creations by using both raw and processed matter as different medias to use on her works and as a source of inspiration.
